Anne, I just now came across the obituary for Walter, my condolences for your loss. I often think about the late 60's and early 70's at Executive and Skytel, all of the fly buddies, Che-Che, some of the crew in the maintenance shop, and my short stint as a lineman at Skytel after getting out of the Army. I hope you are doing well. I've been living in Greenville, SC area since 1988.

I found Walt's obituary today and was sorry to learn of his passing. My dad, Walter, worked for him from 1968-1972/73. My parents had great regard for Walt and always said that Fort Lauderdale was very good to us.
A couple of things I remember: the first was deep sea fishing with our dads and a couple of other men from his boat "Retlaw". The other was when I flew with him, my dad, his parents, and a few others to Massachusetts and New York. What an adventure. And the monkey, Chi-Chi!
I hope the pain of his passing has eased some for all of you.
Kind Regards,
Erica

Walt, I cried when I found your obit.
I was Walt's secretary at Skytel years and years ago. Walt, Doc (Harry Wilson) and I had a blast working and playing together. Flying to the islands for an afternoon of lunch and gambling. Taking an Enstrom to the country club for lunch. Flying an Aero Commander to north Florida for air shows or watching a shuttle take off. Those were the days. I'll never forget them or you, Walt. You, your mom and dad and Doc were like family to me. I loved you all! RIP dear friend! Until we all meet again.....Lea

I have a lot of great memories of Walt over the years. I looked forward every year to your family’s arrival to East Marion. We spent a lot of great summers in East Marion together, fishing and bbqing. Then we would all fly back to Your home in Florida even fly to the Bahamas. I remember family was what Big Walt cared for the most, unless us kids mis behaved and he could pull that belt off just like Zoro. I am sorry that over the years our families drifted apart, but I never forgot about any of you. Big Walt you are greatly missed.
