Antoine “Tony” Haddad, 73, of Fort Lauderdale (formally of Waterford, CT) passed peacefully on the evening of Sunday, March 27, 2022 surrounded by his loving family after a two and a half year battle with cancer.

Tony was born October 25, 1948 in Beirut, Lebanon to the late Farid and Melia Haddad. On July 31, 1971, he married Feriale Hage, his loving and devoted wife of 50 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by his two daughters Amelia Santangelo and husband Brian, Melinda Bousquet and husband Scott. He also leaves behind his four grandchildren who he was most proud of, Nicolas, Melina, Gabriella and Alexander. In addition, he is survived by his loving sisters Lorette Hanna, Afife Tabet, and his brother in law and best friend Aboud Hanna along with many nieces, nephews and cousins who adored him. He was predeceased by his twin sister Therese Ghazal, brother Raymond Haddad, and sister Marie Haddad.

Tony was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He worked at Pfizer for 33 years before retiring to Florida. In his youth, Tony was an avid soccer player and took pride in watching all four of his grandchildren play. He was kind and loving, and maintained a positive outlook on life even until the day he died. He managed his illness with strength and grace and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. On his final day, he was surrounded by his family, who adored him more than anything else in this world.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:00am with a Funeral Mass to follow at Heart of Jesus Catholic Church Maronite Rite, 1800 NE 6th Ct. Fort Lauderdale, FL. Interment to follow at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tony’s memory to the Heart of Jesus Catholic Church Maronite Rite.
