Tribute

Carole F. Ferraro passed away peacefully at home the afternoon of March 29th, 2021 surrounded by her family.

Carole was born in Phillipsburg, New Jersey and raised in Lehighton, Pennsylvania by her parent’s John E. Stein and Marion (Markley) Stein (both deceased). She graduated from Lehighton High School in 1956 and moved to Hollywood, Florida along with her parents in 1960 after vacationing in the area for years. She met her husband, Joseph, at the Hollywood Beach Hotel in 1960, where they both were employed. They were married November 18, 1961 at St. Stephen Catholic Church in West Hollywood. As described in the wedding announcement of the day, she wore a floor length gown of Chantilly lace over taffeta with a veil attached to an orange blossom headpiece. She was blessed with 59 years of marriage.

Prior to moving to Florida, she began her career of over 42 years with AT&T as a local, long distance and international telephone operator at several centers in North Miami Beach, Hollywood and Pembroke Pines before retiring in September 2001. She was a member of the Communications Workers of America and a lifetime member of the Pioneers Communication Volunteer Network. She enjoyed traveling, taking Caribbean and international/Transatlantic cruises and especially trips to Las Vegas and Biloxi to play the slot machines. She loved going to the casino when home, especially the Hard Rock Casino. She rarely lost!

Carole loved living in Florida, enjoying the warm weather, her time with friends, going to her husband’s union picnics and being a mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Ferraro of Sunrise, son Jeffrey A. Ferraro (David Zastrow) of Wilton Manors, daughter Gina M. MacFall (Robert MacFall) of Miramar, grandson Robert (Bobby) MacFall III of Miramar and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins scattered throughout the US. Her sister Marlene Stein preceded her in death.
