Celeste Ann LaBate, born Celeste Ann Battilocchi, went to meet her Lord and Savior on November 23,
2021.
Born in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania to Frank and Adele Battilocchi on March 10, 1933, she graduated from Lincoln High School in 1951 and graduated from Geneva College with a B.A. in 1953.
She was married to James (“Jim”) B. LaBate on October 20, 1956, and shortly thereafter they moved to
Beaver Falls, PA. They enjoyed 23 joyful and active years building a life together while raising their three
children, before Jim’s untimely passing in 1979.
Celeste was involved in many organizations in Beaver Falls and Chippewa Township until moving on a
full-time basis to Florida four years ago.
She is survived by two sons, Jim (Lynn) LaBate and Mark (Silvana) LaBate, grandchildren Lindsey LaBate, Laura LaBate, and Matthew Mullane. She is also survived by her sister, Leah Toth, her brother-in-law Clyde Bartley, several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by son David and daughter Judith(“Judy”).
Celeste was a sweet and caring woman who touched many lives with her kindness and generosity. She
will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Services will be held at St. John the Baptist, 4595 Bayview Drive, Fort Lauderdale, FL. 33308, at 10am Saturday, Dec. 4th and St. Monica’s Parish in Beaver Falls, Pa. (details to follow) with internment at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to: St. John the Baptist, 4595 Bayview Drive Fort Lauderdale FL 33308 and/or St. Monica’s Parish, 116 Thorndale Dr. Beaver Falls, Pa. 15010.
