Elizabeth Neiman Brawley (95) passed away peacefully at home on September 20th, 2017 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Elizabeth was a beloved Mother, Aunt, Grandmother and Great Grandmother to many who now celebrate her life. Born on October 5th, 1921 in Denver, CO to Jack & Amy Neiman, she attended Knoxville High School, Knoxville Business College and then the University of Colorado in Boulder majoring in pre-med. When WWII began, she was recruited to become a Curtiss-Wright Cadette and then transferred to the University of Minnesota where she studied Aeronautical Engineering. After graduation, the Cadettes worked in Columbus, OH where they designed and tested the aircraft that helped win the war. She married Robert L. Brawley in 1944 and had four children: Amy, Nancy, Robert, & Jack. Surviving her are her children and their spouses, 11 grandchildren and their spouses, 15 great-grandchildren, & 9 great-great grandchildren, 3 nephews, a niece and their spouses. There will be a local memorial celebration on Wednesday September 27th, 2017, at Baird Case Jordan Fannin Funeral Home, 4343 N. Federal Hwy, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33308 from 4-8pm. On September 29th, 2017 the memorial service will be held at 11AM at Purcell Funeral Home, 114 West Noble Ave. Bushnell, FL 33513, followed by the internment at 1:30PM at the Florida National Cemetery at 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513.
