December 26, 1931 ~ June 22, 2019 (age 87) 87 Years Old

Tribute

Elizabeth Joan (BJ) Kelton, a long-time Floridian, died Friday, June 21, 2019 at her home. While not originally from Florida, she spent most of her life in the state. During her early years in Ft. Lauderdale, BJ enjoyed attending church and singing in the church choir. She spent many hours working at Coral Ridge Properties, which was purchased by Westinghouse and called WCI, until retiring. After meeting and marrying Wallace Kelton, she learned how to play golf, and often spent time with Wally golfing at different courses in Florida and with relatives in Vermont. While BJ liked to travel, she preferred driving to flying, and she and Wally spent many days driving around the countryside visiting friends and relatives.
In her later years, BJ and Wally discovered a new mode of transportation, cruises. They began taking regular cruises and loved making plans with friends for their future trips. Even after Wally passed, BJ continued to enjoy time with her family and friends on these cruises.
Despite the fact that BJ and Wally didn’t have children, they both enjoyed visits from their nieces and their families. BJ is survived by her cousin Pat Sisk, her sister-in-law, Louise Kelton, her nieces Sandy Floersheim and Pam Smith, and their spouses Jim Ryan and Randy Smith. She is also survived by Sandy and Pam’s children, R. Bruce Floersheim, his spouse Shannon, and their daughters - Leia, Kira, and Anika; Todd Floersheim, his spouse Laura, and their sons - Brandon and Joshua; Sandi Durkee Hicks and her children - Alyssa, Andrew, and Ashlyn; Melissa Durkee and her fiancé Heath; and Erik and Heather Smith and their daughter Charlotte.
Her close friends Maryann and Rudy Nance, Joe and Tammy Radler, Norma Looker, and Dick and Jane Sinclair, also survive her.
BJ would want to thank the her Home Health Agency caregivers, from At Home Value Care, who provided long term care in her home during this past year. She couldn’t have stayed in her own home without them.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Equipment Fund, Orleans Country Club, PO Box 8, Orleans, Vermont, 05860. She and Wally played many rounds of golf with Frank and Louise Kelton at this course
