Our beloved Mother, Essie Manelas, 101, passed away peacefully surrounded by all her children after a brief illness.
Born to Cosmas and Katherine Saitas on November 15, 1920, she was one of 10 children. She was married for 55 years and her husband, John T. Manelas passed away in 1997.
She is survived by her four children, John T. Manelas, Jr, Joyce Manelas Silverman (Neil), Charles Manelas (Frances Ann), Sharon Manelas Cook (Steven), six grandchildren, Sophia Cook Ramirez (Antonio) and Serena Cook, Jonathan (Audrey) and Jeffrey Silverman and Jake and Fiona Manelas, and one great-grand daughter, Angelina Cook Ramirez.
She and her family spent their early years in Manchester, NH, and moved to Boston, MA where they were in the Real Estate business. From 1970-2019, they traveled back and forth to Florida, with the family eventually settling in Florida full time.
