Gayle Jeannine Fortier Jones

Gayle Jeannine Fortier Jones, passed on September 28, 2021, approximately two weeks before her 92nd birthday.  She was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.  She met William Mallory Jones, an Army Captain in Japan, and they were married within a year.  They moved numerous times as the Army often required and had twelve children together, in 2 foreign countries and 6 different states.  She also had eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. 
Aside from enjoying spending time with family and friends, she always found time to do things of interest to her.  She took dance, art, and cooking classes.  She started college before her 12th child was born and earned an AA in Interior Design at age 40.  Her top two passions were genealogical research and traveling.  The genealogical research resulted in her membership and active participation in numerous historical organizations.  Her travel bug started as a child and never ended.  She traveled all over the world, sometimes to see a place of interest or to visit family, or for her genealogical research or just for a meal or show in some of her favorite cities.  She lived her life to the fullest and is missed.
