Dr. George Bezecny D.M.D. born in Prague, Czechoslovakia on April 21, 1928 passed away on April 21, 2018 on his 90th Birthday. Growing up in Prague during WWII and the Communist era, he escaped Communist Czechoslovakia in 1950 while attending Medical School at Charles University in Prague. Before making his way to the US, he worked for the British Information Service in Prague and the US Army Intelligence Division headquartered in Germany. While in the US he enlisted in the US Marine Corps where he received the National Defense Service Medal. He also taught Mathematics in the USMC while based in Washington, DC. Upon graduating from the University of Alabama Medical School in 1959, he became a Doctor of Medical Dentistry. In 1961, married wife Dagmar and moved to Ft Lauderdale where he practiced Dentistry for over 45 years and served the community. George enjoyed the outdoors and traveling the World while pursuing his hobbies of skiing, hunting, fishing and photography. He had a passion for classical music, the sciences and history. Dr. George was also an accomplished tennis player, Nationally Ranked and Top Ranked in the State of Florida in several age divisions. He was a beloved Husband to wife Dagmar and Father to sons George Jr. and Chris. Throughout his life, he was a Loyal and Proud man who was Loved by many and will be missed by All. There will be a Memorial Gathering on Saturday, May 19th at 11 a.m. with Memorial Service starting at 11:30 a.m. at Baird-Case Jordan-Fannin Funeral Home 4343 N Federal Hwy Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
