September 14, 1940 ~ June 9, 2020 (age 79)


James Paul Rose, passed away peacefully at his home on June 9, 2020 after a long period of declining health. Jim was born on September 14, 1940 in Hamilton, Ohio to Lester and Rhoda Rose. He grew up in Hamilton with his sister Beverly. He attended Hamilton High School. Upon graduation he served in the United States Marine Corps and Coast Guard. He met and married Dotty Dickinson and had two daughters Gina and Karla. They moved to Deerfield Beach in 1973 to raise their family. Throughout his life he worked as a fireman, Ecolab Divisional Manager, Advanced Services Sales Manager, and Santa Claus. In 1991, Jim and Joyce Casoria met on the tennis court and married shortly after. They loved tennis, travel, Disney, and family reunions. He was very patriotic and known to always wear his American Flag pin on his collar.

Jim is survived by his wife of 29 years, Joyce, daughters Gina Henry of Boca Raton, Karla Pitchford of Tampa and stepchildren Fred McMurtrey (Debi), Jill Henry (David), Reyanne Gailing (Kasey), 6 Grandchildren and 3 Great-Grandchildren. He is also survived by his nephew Jim Helton (Sam), niece Nicole Jordan (Gary), beloved God Father and Friend John Jordan and many family and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Lester and Rhoda Rose, father and mother-in law Peter and Kay Casoria, and Sister Beverly Helton (Gene).
   
A Funeral Service to celebrate Jim’s life, as well as the burial will be on Monday, June 15th. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 and CDC Guidelines it will be limited in number of guests.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors, St. Jude, or the Salvation Army.
