Janet Marie Thomson

Janet Gehle Thomson was born in Newark, New Jersey on September 28, 1936. She went to school at Glen Ridge High School and Centenary College. She married her husband of 62 years, David, on July 20, 1956, in Hurst Germany. She was a long-time resident of South Florida, having lived in Davie and Pompano Beach. In between, she retired to New Port Richey, Florida after a career with the Broward County School System. She was an accomplished competitive swimmer who taught thousands of children to swim at Nova-Davie Community School. Janet is survived by her beloved husband, David, and her four children, David, Jr. (Lori), Kathy Allen, John (Debbie) and Joan Dwoskin (Owen); nine adoring grandchildren; and her brother, Fred. It is her commitment to her family that inspires her children and grandchildren to continue her legacy of togetherness. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Janet G.
