Joan M. Joyce, 91, passed away at home in Fort Lauderdale on March 3, 2023. Joan was born on Staten Island, NY on April 30, 1931. She is the daughter of the late Ethel (DeForest) Campbell and the late Matthew J. Campbell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Joyce, her son, Robert D. Joyce, her sister, Eileen (Campbell) Connolly, her sister, Ann (Campbell) Timpone, and her brother, Matthew Campbell. She is survived in death by her daughter, Judith E. (Joyce) Dempsey, her son-in-law, Thomas Dempsey and her son, Kevin L. Joyce.

Joan was a homemaker on Staten Island, raising her three children. She helped her husband, Robert, run Joyce’s Tavern in Eltingville, Staten Island, for many years. Joan moved to South Florida in 1986 and became a school administrator at her daughter, Judith’s, school, Summit-Questa Montessori School, where she was employed until recently. Joan also enjoyed many friendships in her local “Breakfast Clubs” in Lauderdale by the Sea.

Joan was a kind-hearted, loving and generous soul who was always ready to help others. Her beautiful smile and hugs will be missed by all.In lieu of flowers family request a donation to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
