Tribute

John was known to most as "Baby” since that's what his loving wife of almost 48 years called him, and affectionately called “Uncle” by almost everyone else! He was born in Pittsburgh PA; he was drafted an after serving these United States in the army and deployed to Vietnam where he cared for the severely wounded. It was then his dream to be a beach bum and he moved to South Florida, where he would meet the woman of his dreams. And what an amazing life they had! Best couple EVER! He retired from the post office in 2005. It was always a party, singing karaoke and dancing. After 20 years of marriage, they renewed their wedding vows with a full wedding ceremony, over 187 guests in attendance at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church performed by the Most Reverend Happy Hoyer and what a Cinderella wedding they had. They traveled all over Florida, but their favorite was the Florida Keyes camping & fishing at Long Key State Park for weeks at a time. You really never could believe what he was saying because he was such a jokester, he would pull you in. John on many occasions would tell people he had a part-time job on Deerfield Beach, making sure all the girls had the right string bikini on! You would never ever meet anyone like him! He was the most unique person and was loved by all with a big beautiful smile, that now is in Heaven continuing his story telling. No more suffering, rest in peace my love, rest in Peace! John is survived by his most loving wife Martha, his son John & family, his siblings, and many nieces & nephews.

The Most Reverend Happy Hoyer will celebrate a Mass of the Repose to be held at St. Ambrose Church in Deerfield Beach, Florida on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Immediately following the Mass, a celebration of life, with a wonderful reunion of family & friends will be held at the Royal Fiesta Event Center in Deerfield Beach, Florida from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
