Tribute

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Juergen Boehme of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, who passed away on May 16, 2023, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends.

Juergen was predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Luise, his sister Traudi, and his brothers Herbert and Klaus.

He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart Gabi; his daughter Kristin & husband Charlie; his son Falk & wife Shilana; his grandchildren Kaiden and Kaliah who lovingly called him “Opi”; his brother Dietmar & wife Marianne; his sister-in-law Traudi & husband Frank; his sister-in-law Andrea & husband Jan; and his brother-in-law Sven & wife Marina.

Juergen was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved hanging out with his dog Biggie and enjoyed working on his boat named “Lady G”.

His family will miss his unconditional love, support, wisdom, encouragement, and strength.

Juergen was very supportive of his wife’s work as a teacher at Summit Questa Montessori School. Juergen and Gabi were high school sweethearts and married in 1974.

He found joy in building slides and playhouses for his grandchildren. He loved them dearly and would light up every time he saw them.

After earning his master’s degree in engineering, Juergen followed in his father’s footsteps by joining the German Navy. He went on to become the youngest officer in charge of a “Landungsboot”. He very much enjoyed this time and was greatly respected by his crew. As leader of the “Schiffstechnischer Dienst” he worked on leading a group of technical engineers.

After retiring from the Navy, Juergen moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and began his journey working as a service engineer for Motor Services Hugo Stamp. He travelled all over the continent and enjoyed his accomplishments repairing engines and components, adding to his knowledge, meeting great people, and learning a new language. As service engineer, followed by the promotion to service manager and ultimately VP of service by the time he retired, he deeply cared about the company and each worker like they were family.
