Lawrence (Larry) Bennett

Larry was born in Columbus, Ohio June 27, 1940 to Frank and Catherine Bennett. He died peacefully on March 22, 2022 with his family blessed to be able to say their goodbyes.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy. He is survived by his daughters, Marla and Kristin, son John, daughter in law, Tara, and grandchildren, Dylan and Abby, as well as many loyal and dear extended family and friends.

In the 8th grade he saw a pretty girl, asked “who is THAT?” and eventually married “that girl” on February 3, 1962. They were happily married for 59 years. He worked hard his entire life, with his favorite job of all time working in the poultry business delivering chicken and eggs. Oh, the stories he told! For many years, he owned his own businesses as a general contractor. We implored him not to tell St. Peter the gates were crooked and needed repainted. Most importantly, he was a devout Catholic and parishioner at St. John the Baptist. We are comforted knowing he is at peace in the presence of the Lord.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4595 Bayview Drive; Rosary at 10:00 a.m., mass at 10:30 a.m. Internment and family gathering will be at a later date in Columbus Ohio.

If you are inclined to do something in his memory, consider enjoying a Jack and Coke and having a cigar while watching the boats go by. Alternatively, consider sending flowers to a loved one, a nursing home or assisted living facility for all residents to enjoy.
