Lisa Bechert

September 17, 1959 ~ April 24, 2022 (age 62)

Lisa Marie Bechert

Born September 17, 1959, to Rosie and Dr. Charles “Skip” Bechert. Lisa passed away
peacefully at Trust Bridge Hospice facility in Boca Raton, FL, on Sunday April 24th after a
lengthy illness.

While born in California, Lisa was a lifelong resident of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida dating back
to her days when she first attended St. Anthony’s Catholic Grade school, then Cardinal
Gibbons High School where she first became active in student government and help
create a Big Brothers and Big Sisters tradition.

Lisa went on to attend her beloved Florida State University where she was considered to
be a valued member of the Delta Gamma sorority and remained a devoted Seminole fan,
often wagering against her dad, Skip, in friendly bets against the Canes as well as
attending the yearly football rivalry between the Noles and the Canes.

Lisa’s dream of becoming an attorney came true after graduating from South Texas
School of Law when she was hired by Mike Satz at the Broward County State Attorney’s
office as an assistant state attorney. She loved being an assistant state attorney and
worked her way up through the ranks into the special sex crimes unit. After leaving the
State attorney’s office she briefly ventured into private practice but returned to serve the
people of Broward County as one of the assistant Broward County Attorney’s.

Lisa is survived by her three brothers, Trip, Kevin (Ranee), Chris, stepmother Sheila
Bechert and stepsister Wendy Weber, as well as several nieces; Alexandra, Mallory,
Oceana and nephew, Morgan. Lisa was also very proud to be a loving godmother to
Madeline, Tori, and Alison Kreher.

She loved her childhood dog “Scooby” and her adult dog “Torts”.

Lisa always had a flair for the dramatic, often called “Tallulah” by her mother (reference
to one of Hollywood’s famed drama queens). Lisa was known to be devoted to her loved
ones. Always one to speak her mind, she often invited fierce debate which she was proud
to state she learned from her friends at “Toastmasters” which she was an avid member
for many years. Lisa was a loyal friend, daughter and sister with an incredible memory
often recalling details from years past as she told stories like it was yesterday. She will
always be remembered for her keen intellect as well as her determination.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 6th at 11am at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church
