Tribute

"Lucille Johanna Bujalski was born on April 1, 1921, near Rice Lake, Wisconsin to Richard and Elsie Kearney.  She was the 3rd of 8 children living on their family dairy farm.  She attended high school in Rice Lake, and soon after graduation enlisted in the Army as a member of the Women’s Auxiliary Corps where she attained the rank of Master Sergeant.  At a military dance, she met James F. “Frank” Johnson whom she married shortly thereafter.  When Frank’s plane was lost in action during a bombing mission in World War II, Lucille became a single parent to her son, Jimmy, and they moved to Dallas.  Lucille took classes at Southern Methodist University and worked for the Veterans’ Administration in Dallas where she lived until a mutual friend introduced her to Theodore E. “Ted” Bujalski, Sr.  Lucille and Ted were married on October 7, 1950, in Cleveland, Ohio, where they resided for several years.  They started their business of building residential properties in Cleveland and continued when they moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1956.
Lucille not only worked with Ted; she founded Sun Ridge Realty in 1965 where she was one of the first women brokers in Broward County.  While raising her family, she maintained her real estate practice, traveled with Ted and with her beloved daughter, Lisa, and assisted Ted in the operation of their farm in Johnstown, Colorado.  Lucille will be remembered for her love of gardening (floppy hat and long-sleeve shirt included), her business acumen, love of country, love for her family, her belief in higher education, and her never-ending faith.  She was proud of the accomplishments of her children, James F. (Lorraine) Johnson, Jr., Theodore E. (Deborah) Bujalski, Jr., and Lisa Ann Bujalski.   Her adoration for her grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren--- James F. (Samantha) Johnson, III, Clint (Anne) Johnson, Lee (Bill) Casement, Michael Ann (Greg) Fitch, Victoria (Charles) Hilliard, Theodore E. Bujalski, III, and Leanne Johanna Bujalski---was unending.    She will be joined in heaven by her parents and siblings that have gone before her, as well as her beloved husband, Ted, and her daughter, Lisa. "

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 20th, at 10:00 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4595 Bayview Drive, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33308.
Interment will follow at 2:15 p.m., at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7, Lake Worth, Florida 33449.
