Mary Corey Cayer of Gatlinburg Tennessee, formerly of Oakland Park, Florida.
Born in Newport, Rhode Island to Mary Nunes Corey and Joaquim Vargas Corey. Graduated from Hanford High School (1953) in Hanford, California; attended Newport Business school; received an associate degree in criminal justice from Broward College. She was an accident investigator (CSO) with Hollywood Police Department and then Wilton Manors Police Department. She was a devout Catholic.
Survived by the love of her life of 62 ½ years Joseph F. Cayer, Jr.; Sister Adeline Corey Ricci; pre-deceased by Joseph Corey (brother).
Children: Cheryl A. Cayer (Cherise Williams); Scott J. Cayer; Jaclyn C. Brooks (Donnie Brooks).
Grandchildren: Lindsey Cayer; Kaitlin Brooks; Dalton Brooks
Great-Grandchildren: Nahlana and Nahmella Rolle
Brother-in-laws: Wilfred Cayer (Evelyn) and George Cayer.
She loved life, traveling, horseback riding, motorcycles, tennis, shooting and a good joke!
Canine companion “Bandit” and numerous cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m.
Interment will be in Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery, North Lauderdale, Florida.
