Nancy Yohe passed away peacefully on August 25, 2019. She is survived by her loving companion of 55 years Marlene Panagos, her Goddaughter Andrea Sonnier and her son Justin, nephew Scott (Ann Marie) Yohe, niece Karen (Michael) Lynch and great nephew and niece Blayne and Mariel. She was predeceased by her parents Layton and Catherine, her brother Don and sister-in-law June. Nancy moved to South Florida from Canton, Ohio and attended Barry University where she received a BA in Drama. Nancy's leading role in life was being the Artistic Director of the Fort Lauderdale Children's Theater(FLCT) where from 1961 - 1985 she touched the lives of so many. With her fun-loving nature she inspired her students to be their very best not only on the stage but off the stage. Nancy loved to spend her summers in North Carolina where she directed the drama program at Camp Merrie-Woode in Sapphire. She was also the Artistic Director for the Caldwell Theater Company in Boca Raton. She directed productions in San Francisco, implemented a teaching skills program for the United States in Bogota and taught professional social skills to European businessmen in the Bahamas. Nancy was loved dearly by her family, friends and FLCT students who will always remember her life lessons and little sayings such as "It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice."
The family will receive friends, Friday, August 30th., from 5:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., at the Baird Case Jordan Fannin Funeral Home, 4343 N. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, 33308
