Nickey Earl Wright, 61, of Plantation FL, formerly of Cabarrus County, passed away unexpectedly on March 7, 2021.

Nickey was born in Cabarrus County, on October 9, 1959. He was a son of Betty Sue Smith Lafferty and the late Bonnie Lee Wright.

Nickey graduated from AL Brown, class of 77. He spent his career working in Florida as a project manager in HVAC for new construction. Nickey will be remembered for his kind, loving heart, and always having a smile. He will be deeply missed.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Betty Sue Smith Lafferty(Martin); his brothers, Tony Wright, Teddy Wright, Michael Wright (Lillian), and Steven Wright; step sister, Amy Lynn Foster (Johnny); step brother, Greg Lafferty (Miriam); and niece, Sofia Wright.

Memorial service to honor Nickey’s life will be announced at a later date.
