Tribute

Shea Eddy Haynes
November 25, 1957 – February 13, 2024

Shea Haynes, 66, of Fort Lauderdale, passed away on February 13, 2024, in Pompano Beach.

The funeral service will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Baird-Case Jordan Fannin Funeral Home.

Her ashes will be scattered near a cherished mangrove island in the Florida Keys where her late husband, David A. Haynes, was laid to rest.

Shea was born in Fort Lauderdale, FL to Jack Hunt and Patricia Ryan on November 25, 1957. She grew up in Fort Lauderdale but attended elementary and middle school at Judson Middle School in Scottsdale, AZ, high school at Colorado Springs School for Girls, and college at Franklin University in Switzerland.

Her parents were blessed with five children who all had deep bonds with one another. The family specialized in real estate development around the South Florida area. Shea was very proud of their success, but she found pleasure in the simple things, especially if it was outside! The sun seemed to fill her soul with pure joy. It didn’t matter if the weather was warm or cold; Shea would emerge in an outdoor activity. You could find her just as easily skiing down a mountain as you could scuba diving for fresh lobster or fishing and sailing offshore with her father.

Shea married David Haynes on April 23, 1988, in Fort Lauderdale, FL. They opened Native Pool and Spa INC and ran it for 35 years. While David was the face of the company, he didn’t do it alone. Shea helped man the books and even helped him on jobs. But their proudest achievements were their two children, David Tanner Haynes and Torre Shea Haynes. She loved being a mom and would brag about her children’s achievements, no matter how small they were. Shea made sure that they were her highest priorities and was an active participant in their extracurricular activities. Tanner and Torre knew that she would be at every football game, dance recital, or awards ceremony. If her child was being celebrated, you could be certain Shea was there to cheer them on!

Life for Shea was a beautiful routine that she greatly enjoyed. Her day would begin with a call to her daughter, Torre, as well as her friends Linda DeYoung and Susan Sullivan. She would end her days with Kellie Bishop, where they would spend the afternoons around a bonfire or watching a football game in the backyard.

Shea is preceded in death by her father Jack Hunt, her mother Patrcia Ryan, her sisters Shaun Hunt and Shim Hunt, her husband David Haynes, her brother Jason Hunt, and her aunt Natalie Gail McGinty.

Shea is survived by David Tanner Haynes (son), Torre Shea Haynes (daughter), Jack Hunt (brother), Laura Hunt (sister-in-law), Natalie Hunt (niece), Kyle Hunt (nephew), Kian Hunt (nephew), Dalton Hanna (nephew), Ryanne Hanna (niece), Barbara Williams (mother-in-law), Richard Haynes (brother-in-law), Aubree Davis (niece), Kevin Haynes (nephew), Marlee Strah (niece), and a cast of characters:  Danielle Stella, Steven Iuen, Susan Sullivan, Linda Deyoung, and Kellie Bishop.
