                WARREN J. HURLEY

Son of Warren (Pat) Hurley and Elizabeth Cushing

Born June 21,1922 in Boston ,Massachusetts.  Warren was raised in Charlestown and Somerville, Massachusetts.  Following graduation from Somerville High School, Warren began working as an industrial roofing foreman, which lead to his lifelong career in construction.  He was founder & president of Hurley Roofing of Medford, MA.   He lived in Medford many years before retiring to Fort Lauderdale.

In 1943, he married Mary (Molly) Duffy, the love of his life.  They were married for 77 years before Molly passed away in July 2020.  Warren was predeceased by his brother George Hurley and his beloved sister Ruth Hurley.  He is survived by his brother Robert Hurley (Ret. Navy) RI & FL, and Brian Hurley MA & FL.

Also, survived by his children Maureen Zolubos & husband Robert of Fort Lauderdale; Gail Santarlasci & husband Joseph of Fort Lauderdale and MA; Warren J. Hurley Jr. & wife Idelete of Fort Lauderdale & Brazil; and Sean Hurley and finance Jodi of Boston.

Grandchildren:  Deborah Carmichael, John Zolubos, Kristen DeMartinis, Kathleen Dodge, Susan Earley, Warren J Hurley III, Scott Hurley, Patrick Hurley, and Christopher Hurley.
Great Grandchildren:  Erin Tennis, Liam Hickey, Nicole Milone, Nina Milone, Patrick Hurley, Gavin Hurley, Katelyn Carmichael, Cameron Carmichael, Christopher DeMartinis, Michael DeMartinis, Ashleigh DeMartinis, Jared Zolubos, Dylan Zolubos, and Hailey Zolubos.  And many nieces & nephews.

 Warren was extremely proud to service his country in the US Navy during World War II.  His ship, the Frederick Funston was one of the few US Navy ships involved in both Pacific and  Atlantic campaigns.  They participated in the liberation of the Philippines, the Asia- Pacific arena, and the European, Middle East, and North African conflicts.  

Warren and Molly were frequently seen dancing at the Elks in Pompano, and on many cruise ships.  They loved traveling the world and introduced their children and grandchildren to traveling and cruising.

Entombment is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery.

Due to Covid, this will be a private family service.
